Emergency Planning

The Downtown District is a liaison between the City of Houston, Harris County, METRO, Houston Transtar and others, and our downtown stakeholders. It is the District's responsibility to inform and assess in a timely manner, return the public realm back to normal as quickly as possible, and above all, to provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders during an emergency.

The HDMD Emergency Response Plan is designed to be flexible enough to function under many different types of emergency situations including but not limited to: hurricanes/tropical storms, severe/flash flooding, tornado warnings/touchdowns, chemical/biological hazards, terrorist attacks and power grid disruptions.
