“Accra Floods” is a mural about flooding and climate change (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13). According to the United Nations, climate change has made extreme weather events such as floods and droughts more likely and severe. Since 2000, flood-related disasters have risen by 134 percent compared with the two previous decades. Flooding happens everywhere, including in Houston where three “500-year” floods occurred in 2015, 2016 and 2017 (Hurricane Harvey).
